Does hypnosis for itching work? And if so – how and why? This is what this article is going to look at.

Do you know this feeling… when it itches and tingles… and the natural reflex is to just scratch it?

But you know it is the wrong reaction – because even though the scratching might provide temporary relief, ultimately, it will leaf your skin scarred for life.

But what to do?

Just wait? Be patient and sit it out?

Maybe that’s what friends or family members told you.

Sure, sounds good in theory. Just ignore the scratching.

But HOW THE F*** TO DO THIS???

Maybe you went to a doctor and he wrote down on his little sheet: pruritus. That’s medical lingo for itch. As if that would help.

And what about the cream or lotion that he gave you? Probably has worked as effectively as it works for most people: not!

Sometimes it’s just a simple thing like tiger balm… then it doesn’t matter so much. But some creams or medication can come with serious side effects. You start with an itch, and you end up with methemoglobinemia or something just as bad… that’s not the way to go.

So just scratch away?

Not a good idea. Oftentimes the immediate result are bacterial infections, and in the long run ugly scarring.

It doesn’t really matter whether you are dealing with a localized or generalized itch – both can drive you mad.

I like hypnosis for itching because of two reasons:

a) it works

b) it works without side effects.

The worst part about it is that you have to make the time to listen to that hypnotic voice regularly.

Honestly, as much as I am grateful for the effects hypnosis has had on me, I admit that I often feel really bored listening to it again. Yes, it is relaxing and a little daily time-out, but there are way more fun ways to relax.

If you talked to a medical practitioner, you probably already know that there are two causes of itching: psychological and physiological.

People with pruritus often notice that it gets worse when they are stressed out, anxious or under pressure.

On the physiological side, it is often a symptom of an allergy or a disease.

However, the most important thing is to find a way to stop that itch that doesn’t affect your health negatively. And that is why I like hypnosis for itching.
