Open Question: Is there a better way to ventilate to avoid allergy symptoms?

by Samantha Wilkinson on September 21, 2009

It seems that either head colds or severe allergies has struck my family - worse than I've ever seen. The poor dog is sneezing right along with us! It's too cold to put the AC on to clean the air, perfect open window weather. I suspect one of the worst offenders is our lawn. Silly question but would it cut down on allergy symptoms if I kept the windows on the lawn side of the house closed and opened them on the side that is basically dirt/sand? What can I do to keep the air somewhat free of pollen while still enjoying fresh air? I thought about the air filters but it's all so confusing! Which one is good, which stinks, I hear bad reviews about the ones I like - UGH!
