Open Question: Tiny worm/larvae around my guinea pig’s cage, skinny, white, red head, 1/2 inch long, what is it?
Also, how do I get rid of it? A few weeks ago I brought home a guinea pig from a lady who's daughter had developed allergies to the sweet little guinea pig. The lady was a richer lady, very nice, clean, expensive looking house. She gave me a huge cage, a huge bag of bedding, food, etc.,... pretty much everything I would need. I got my piggy home, and several days later noticed a skinny little wormy thing crawling up the wall behind the cage. Now the cage doesn't actually touch the wall, I've checked everything that came with my piggy, and I've even contacted the previous owner, and she said she never noticed anything. I can't find any of the bugs in the cage or the bedding or any of the stuff she came with. Any help as to what these might be? Where they might be coming from? How to get rid of them? And my piggy is fine, she's full of energy, eats normal and loves her water, so I don't think she has worms or is sick in any way that I can tell.
