Open Question: Wheat allergy seems to have mostly disappeared…could it be from going off synthroid? I used to get a very…?
drugged feeling any time I ate something with wheat in it, however small. I've missed Synthroid for 3 days, and then I ate gluten, expecting to get sick from it like I used to a few months ago. I would get swelling and extreme sleepiness where I could not function, had to lie down and sleep immediately, and would feel "out of it" for days. I ate the gluten to prepare for the Celiac transglutimase blood test. Which I'm annoyed to say my doctor told me I did not need to eat gluten to have an accurate test. (The Mayo Clinic website confirmed he is wrong). Any thoughts? Suggestions as to why I am suddenly not having a severe reaction to gluten. I found it very hard to go without gluten for about 4 months, and had many accidental glutenings that made me sick. The only thing different right now is that I've missed 3 days of Synthroid medication. I have a low level reaction to the gluten, some generalized swelling and some pain in my neck, but no severe sleepiness. Thanks for any insight anyone could offer....
