Resolved Question: How to turn off an internet timer?

by Martin Edelstrom on September 10, 2010

Hello everyone! I know this is a bit... well bad of me. But my father has put a timer on the internet. The reason: my insomnia has worsened over the summer and he doesn't want me on the computer all night. Yes, yes, I know that he's doing it for my own good. But in my defence, I need something to do at night, and I normally do my home work at night and sleep when I get home, since no one is home and I easily get headaches from the sun shining in my room and the rest of my house is kind of a mess. So my question for you is: how the heck do I turn it off or get around it? Truthfully it is so I can do homework and such, not just play around on the internet. And before anyone asks, yes I have had talks with my dad, but they lead to arguments about my health. But currently, I have a lot of AP classes and things need to get done, while I get some sleep some times. So in my opinion I should be doing work while I'm actually awake, instead of attempt to sleep but failing -Oh and I'm not allowed to take sleeping pills due to other medication I'm on. So I'm at a bit of an impasse. Mainly because all my classes require the internet, not just a computer. Any and all help would be appreciated. Oh and please no comments about how I'm a bad child or anything like that. I already know that, but alas I'd rather not ruin my chances of getting into a good college by doing work while my brain is muddled and needs sleep rather than when I'm fully awake and being forced to attempt to sleep. So yup, just give me some advice about how to turn off, or get around, an internet timer please. Thank you for your time! Oh and I apologise for the length of this! I get rather rambly at times. By the way our router is a Linksys. If you need any information on it just ask.
