by Martin Edelstrom on September 9, 2010
Or would the fact that they suffer from something like that put you off? By mental illness, I mean like depression, schizophrenia, social anxiety, Insomnia etc And by learning difficulty I mean like dyslexia, autism etc
Max thank you for mentioning that some of the worlds most intelligent people have had these conditions. Most people have a very stereotypical view of people like this. I have social anxiety suffer from insomina and have struggled with depressed, I also got diagnosed with dyslexia when I was 10 years of age. Regardless of all this, I am still a fully functioning member of society. Most people are unaware of of my problems untill I tell them. I got an IQ test conducted with my physchiatrist and it was 132. Which is higher than average, I also got into university despite my dyslexia, which is something I struggle with a lot. It's almost as if I'm hallucinating words at times. I wish people understand that having a mental illness or learning difficulty does not automatically make you stupid.
